Booking/Ordering Your Cake
Booking early is advisable and we ask for wedding cakes at least 3 months before the event, especially if you would like our fruitcake as it is matured for a minimum of 8 weeks prior to wedding.
Celebration cakes, the majority are sponge cakes that are baked to order the week of the event. We require a minimum of 2 weeks notice but 1 month is preferable. We sometimes have space for late bookings, please email to enquire.
To order your cake after design has been accepted a 50% non refundable deposit of the final price standing [including delivery] is taken this applies to all cakes over £100. The balance is to be paid 1 month before event .
Cakes under £100 must be paid in full as soon as design and final price [ including delivery if applicable] is accepted and this payment must reach us within 3 weeks of event due date via any of the different payment methods. This is confirmation of order but changes can be made to the design and subsequently the balance if necessary.
If the cake is ordered with a quicker lead time 2 weeks or less full payment is required on finalisation of design as intial work will begin immediately.
All orders are not confirmed without a deposit and all cakes must be paid for before collection/delivery. No exceptions.
In certain circumstances we are able to take a deposit for long orders on celebration/ novelty cakes, this will be 30% of the final balance and payment to be made in full 1 month before the event as above.
All prices are non negotiable and priced according to your specific design and size.
If you require us to work to a specific budget we will change the design accordingly where possible. We do not price match and the prices given are a reflection on the time spent on each custom project and the quality of ingredients and details used.
Following your consultation/enquiry your quote is valid for 2 months and by paying the deposit secures the date and prevents any price changes. Only in exceptional circumstances eg. fuel prices that it may change beyond our control.
Discounts are avaliable to those ordering a wedding cake and favours together and this is dependent on quantity. Please enquire futher to your consultation for more information on this.
How to Pay
We are currently unable to accept credit/debit card over the phone however, there are several ways you can pay for your cake:

We can accept payment in cash but we do not collect, please make arrangements prior to paying deposits/balance this way.
Cheques please make payable to Emma Procopiou, please bear in mind when placing your order and wishing to pay by cheque that it must clear before work can begin on your cake
We can accept credit and debit payments via Paypal. We will invoice you via email and you can follow the instructions as any online transaction,
Please note Paypal method of payment does incur a charge to cover our costs, all of which is detailed on your invoice.
If a payment for deposit is not made within 2 months of quote we reserve the right to cancel booking and we can no longer guarantee avaliablity for the date and will have to recost at current prices. If full payment is not cleared in our account before event the order will not be released
If the event is cancelled one month before we reserve the right to retain the 50% deposit. If it is cancelled 3 weeks before the event to retain 75% of total balance and if cancellation occurs within 7 days of the event the right to retain 100% of the price.
For celebration cakes that are cancelled 2 weeks before the date we reserve the right to keep the total deposit. If it is cancelled within 7 days of the event any work that has been carried out on the cake including baking or decorations will be charged for accordingly as well as the deposit.
All cakes are baked within a week to event day and we use trusted recipies that give us that shelf life.
If you postpone the event we will try to move your booking as long as the date is free, if not it will be treated as a cancellation.
All cancellations must be made in writing [letter or email] to We Want Cake and will be deemed effective as to when we recieve the letter
We reserve the right to cancel a booking due to events beyond our control such as Emma’s ill health. In that event a full refund would be offered.
If you decide you do not need the cake a refund of deposit or full payment [whichever applies] is offered within 10 days of confirmation, this only applies to celebration cakes that are booked well inadvance 1-2 months.
Refunds are only applicable to wedding cakes if cancelled 3 months before date of wedding, if not it will be treated as a cancellation.
Refund due any other issue with the cake in question must be taken up as soon as possible and the cake must be returned to be inspected by ourselves before any refund is given.
It is your responsibility to read through and check all details of the quote fully and any changes to be made in writing.
Where possible we will endevour to change the design appropriatley, however this is not always possible due to the nature of the request or amount of notice given.
If the alteration affects the cost or intial prep work has begun we will ammend the balance accordingly. Please, if you are undecided on the final design please ensure to tell us when paying your deposit.
We reserve the right to change a design if circumstances beyond our control take place ie. cake melting in heat
Each cake is made individually by hand to the specific order. We do not use cake mixes all ingredients are fresh and though we aim for consistency as well as quality there may be slight variation from the picture supplied as each cake is unique.
If Design elements have had to be changed and you are not happy with the end result eg. ribbon colour , please inform us as soon as possible and if changes can be made we will always endeavor to correct the problem.
Please make sure that if picking up the cake whoever is collecting is able to check the cake and be aware of your design wishes. All cakes and orders are checked by the team thouroughly before the cake is released but we would not like anything to be missed.
Delivery is calculated on time and distance basis using google maps. We will always inform you of the price of delivery and its affect on your balance.
Alternativley you can pick up from us for free however, you will be responsible for setting up your cake/ tower and will be given instructions on how to do so.
If you choose delivery we will ensure that your cake arrives in perfect condition for your reception. however we ask for patience on circustances outside our control such as traffic conditions, as we cannot be held liable. We ask that it is your responsibilty to provide us with the correct venue address and time we also ask for the venue postcode.
We always leave a sufficient allotted time to deliver your cake as well as other deliveries to be made the same day
In the very unlikley event of a late delivery the maximum compensation will be of the delivery price.
If you choose to collect your cake we are not liable for any damage that may occur once it has left our premises. Tiered cakes are the most liable to damage, please seek our advice on transportation and assembly. To ensure that your cake is fresh we recommend you collect your cake the day before the wedding/event.
Please also check that your wedding insurance covers any cake damage.
We advise that you appoint a point of contact for the day[ wedding planner/co ordinater/manager/relative] that will be present on the day and that we are informed of this person with a contact number well in advance.
Please bear in mind cakes are of a delicate nature and are suseptible to damage, and we cannot accept any reponisbility once it has left our possesion this includes any decoration implemented by your florist. We ask that either we are present when your florist adds flowers or that it is done by ourselves.
If you require us to come out to repair damage you will be charged for transportation fees, if necessary you may need to return the cake to us for repair due to the specialist equipment we use.
All cakes are baked to order especially sponges as they do not have a very long shelf life. Fruit cakes are matured for over 2 months before being consumed.
All cakes can be frozen with the sugarpaste intact but please note that condensation will form on icing .Please freeze immediately up to 2 months. It may be appropriate to portion out cake before freezing . We cannot guarantee quality of the cake after 48 hours of event.
Let us know in advance if you would like the white cake boxes kept for you to transport any leftover cake home, if not we will remove these to keep venue tidy.
If you have any concerns about your cake please notify us on delivery/inspection so that we have time to rectify it before your event by contacting Emma on her mobile 07903 254248.
All complaints must be made in writing to We Want Cake and include photographic evidence of fault or by returning the cake to us.
No compensation will exceed the total value of the cake and the cake must be returned to us intact and unused due to fault.
No refunds are given because of change of mind.
Here at We Want Cake would like to assure you of our best attention at all times and we strive for quality and excellence. We take pride in our service and good reputation and always put our clients needs first. We would never intentionaly supply a cake that we would not consume ourselves and it is important that we can maintain and provide a great service to all our clients .
